Sensei Brian Case

Credentials:
– National A level referee and 3rd degree black belt.
– Started Judo at age 8.
– Attained brown belt at age 14.
– Attended national championships as a member of the Senior Provincial Men’s Team at age 15.
– Attended 3 Western Canada Summer Games placing 3rd.
– Provincial Champion more than once.
– Was a member of the University of Manitoba Gold Medal winning team at the CIAU judo championships.
– Was one of the main training partners of Mark Berger, who won a Bronze Medal at the 1984 Olympics in Los Angeles, California.
– Won a Bronze Medal at the Pacific Rim Championships in Steveston, BC. Defeating the Mexican Olympic representative.
– Attended many National Men’s Championships as a member of the Men’s Provincial Team and placed as high as 6th.
– Competed across Canada from British Columbia to Quebec and as far south as Minneapolis.
– Gold Medal winner at the Manitoba Winter Games in Judo.
– Placed 2nd at the Manitoba Winter Games in weight lifting.
– Certified level one Judo coach working toward level two.
– Was co-coach and founder of the Carman Judo Club.
– Awarded the Silvio Sboto Memorial Award for Coaching Excellence in 2009.
– Awarded outstanding Manitoba referee for 2017-2018.
