Here’s Brian’s end of the year message.
I hope everyone who participated in or had family who participated in our Judo classes this year enjoyed themselves. I have set up classes to begin in the fall on September 13th. Classes will wrap up that year on April 27th of 2017. At this point in time we will leave registration prices the same as last year. I will take registrations over the summer at my email (firstname.lastname@example.org) or contact the Portage Judo Club website to reserve a spot. Simply include the student name, birthdate, and class you would prefer to attend. We had to set up a waiting list for one of the classes last year, so I would encourage you to contact me in the not so distant future.
I would like to thank all those volunteers who stepped up and helped out at our tournament. Plans are to use the same facility next year, so we will have a better idea of how to organize things. I would also like to give a special Thank You to all the assistant coaches who helped me throughout the year and allow our program to have an instructor/student ratio which is second to none. So Thank You to Sean Burton, Natasha Burton, Sydney Pearson, Pinto Town, Chysom Scott, Dylan Tully, Valerie Tully, and all the younger judoka who have helped coach throughout the year.
Finally, I would like to thank all those who worked on the Executive, as their efforts allow me more time applied to creating a better program. I would also like to encourage anyone who would like to help coach or become an executive member to contact me. If we have all positions filled, it is not a time consuming commitment, and frees me up to coach more. I know we are losing a couple of coaches and numerous executive positions will be open. I currently volunteer approximately 15 hours per week to the program. The more help I get the more students we can include in the club.
So, there you have it. The end of another great year. Have a fun summer everyone, and check back here from time to time for updates like club related news, possible get togethers, and fall registration. I’ll open the comments up below for people who want to book their next year spots.
