Ty got a silver, Troy and Andrew got bronze medals, and Skips and the twins got pretty nice trophies.
Like I said, everyone did good, but we need to spend some serious time on our ground escapes, and sets ups for our throws. I’ve been guilty of this in matches, but your throws won’t be very successful without setting up a combo, or at least an initial balance break (called kuzushi).
After the tournament, Ryan and I did the voice overs for the Portage Judo Sports Desk video recounting the events of the Portage Open back in April. It should be ready and worth a chuckle in a day or two.
